Perk up your meals with these atchar tips

Never tried atchar because you think they’re all blisteringly hot, and besides, you’re not quite sure what to do with them? Well the simple answer is that atchar is a vegetable or fruit pickle that is an integral part of any Indian or South Asian meal. A good atchar should balance a meal, so if you’re serving something spicy, it’s a sweet pickle you’re after like Mild Vegetable Atchar or Mild Mango Atchar. And conversely, if the food is on the bland side, Hot Vegetable Atchar and Hot Mango Atchar will liven things up! Rule of thumb – if it’s savoury and you can eat it with your hands, it’ll be even better with your favourite Atchar.
